Not a single soul in this world can dare to say “I hate children”…. Children are the visible sense of happiness beyond expectation and profound barriers to live a closed life. Tell me who does not want to live their life the way children do… Not a way… think if we as seniors are passing the healthy node and the environment on to them????
Parents and the present generation play a big part in bringing them up the way they are entitled and entrusted with. As seniors, we have a huge role to build a good support environment for them to build themselves with only good thoughts and deeds to hang around with.
ROLE of the Parents of Today!!!!
We are in the age of inflation and add to it, we have almost lost the attitude and the acceptance to accommodate others around us. The families today are “nuclear” as we say and literally that’s the way we are…. (Shrunk in thoughts and a very small circle within which we dump ourselves and impose the same on our children)
End of the day, we have got to accept that it’s the only way we know to live our lives right now. We don’t know how to mingle and accommodate others in life. Lost in the bad habits that surround us, we are just about on the brinks of extinction (Extinction of humanity).
We are used to seeing families where both parents have to work to earn a wealthy living… Not necessarily healthy. With this, parents are to play multi functional roles such as Parent, Employee, Planner,,,,,,,, and so on. This definitely takes huge toll on them and starts to show on their functional ability as a parent primarily.
Returning from the office, we are invariably stressed, tired, lots of fatigue, agony and nothing but happiness. Psychology says “we are what we think primarily we are”. Now if a parent thinks they are primarily a “parent” in all senses of this word, then there is no problem. But, I am afraid we are dwelled with all other roles, just over shadow the role of a parent.
We always seem to be frustrated and built with anger that we pass it on to the children who need nothing but love and affection.
Animal behavior explains this theory better than any. For instance, what happens when we sight a venomous snake on the road? As we get near, the snake runs for life and vanishes into a burrow. But why does a snake not do the same to a Jeff Corwin or a Austin Stevens or a Steve Irwin. It seems to stay where it was even as they approach it. The answer is quite astonishing!!! Human beings, like all other animals emit waves and vibrations from their skin all the time. And the frequency, content and the volume of it depends on the mood that we are in. when we approach a snake, its always with a fear and anxiety that we do. This sends a strong negating vibration across and it sends the snake disappearing in fear of it getting killed. When the animal adventurists approach a snake, its always with a sense of comfort and passion to love it. This keeps the snake calm and it invariably stays where it was…..
Children are quite dramatically the same as how animals are!!! They can detect vibrations 5 to 6 times stronger than how we do. They can sense our mood better than how we do. If you approach them with love and affection, the vibrations attract them and keeps them calm most often than not. But when you show a stressed, angry, frustrating face, they receive it with fear and scare that could cause devastating results. (Worse is to carry a plastic smile on the face). The results are in the form of violence that they throw objects in hand or it could be physical violence itself.
Long term results of this could be even more devastating. As they grow in age, they could develop a sense of hatred towards parents and start indulging in all that the parents never would even dare to think in the wildest of their dreams.
The answer is quite straight forward. Either of the parents has to compromise. We have got to compromise a bit on our career growth and have a good “work-life” balance which most of us lack.
CARTOONS and COMICS are as violent as the MI Movies….
Gone are the days of Pinocchio’s adventures, Tin Tin’s adventures & fairy tales….
Gone are the days of stories of the Panchatantra, Tenali Rama & Akbar and Birbal….
Walt disney’s cartoons did not have a tinge of sorrow or blood in them… they are not in the entertainment menu of today’s children anymore.
Gone are the days of Popeye’s heroic morals that are carried on….
Definitely the days of comical “tom & jerry” have vanished…
Where are the animatic morals of Sylvester’s baby kitten advising his dad not to shoot and hunt animals but to love them???
Cartoons today, are killing the generation for sure. Children are glued to watching BEN10, The power rangers and the list is end less. What worse? They start enacting the same at home. Marketers look at it as a boon to them and the BEN10 franchisees are running among the most successful ones.
Now add this to the situation of the working parents sending negative vibes across to their children. Children look at their parents as the famous villains in the action cartoons and become victims.
We preach “Business Ethics” and say what we sell or manufacture should not be compromised with the well being of the society. But is that what we do?? The answer is a big Shame. We never practice what we preach. Do we??
Children are exposed to all such things that make them violent and harsh. There is a fine line between children being active and them being aggressive. I am afraid if the children today have crossed the line and are clearly “Aggressive”.
Big question lurks in the future and it stares at me as well and asks “How is my child going to be???” – I wish I can say all good things about it, but the reality is, answer is a gray shade of HOPE.
AND WE ARE FIGHTING AGAINST ALL ODDS AND HOPE!!!!
